Aryans Degree College, Nepra, Rajpura celebrated Baisakhi with great fervour and gaiety and apprised the youngsters about rich culture and heritage of Baisakhi merriments. The college premises were aptly decorated depicting the harvest season.
Students were explained about the importance of this festival by showcasing a Punjabi village scene and were shown various aspects of rural Punjab by showing the sowing, ploughing, harvesting, winnowing and gathering of crop etc. Vibrant and exhilarating folk dance Giddha and Bhangra was performed at the moment in the fields by the students .Dhol beats and Punjabi folk music added to their excitement to the moment. It was a treat to see the children dressed in colourful Punjabi traditional outfits.
To mark the authenticity of the occasion students shared sweets with each other. Speaking on the occasion Chairman Anshu Kataria said that Baisakhi is not only a harvest festival but also an auspicious day as on this very day Shri Guru Gobind Singh had established the 'Khalsa Panth'.
