World Earth Day Celebrated at Aryans College

People asked to stop using plastic bags

The Management, Staff and the Students of Aryans college of Education & Aryans Degree College today celebrated World Earth day with great zeal & zest in college campus. Dr. Manjula Kataria, Principal, Aryans College of Education presided over the function.

An awareness rally on the theme “Maa Bachao, Dharti Upjayo, Rukh Lagao” was organized in nearby villages. Students of BBA, BCA, BA and B.Ed participated with great enthusiasm. Students wrote on various topics concerning environment. They highlighted the message of growing more trees to save the earth, to keep the environment clean and green to save the earth from greenhouse gases.

Speaking on the occasion Dr. Manjula Kataria said that the young students should come forward and become nation’s ambassadors by practicing eco-friendly habits in life, like taking care of clean and green surroundings around their house, college and in school, discouraging the use of polythene bags, using bicycles more to counter pollution problem and conserving water and electricity.

Badge-making and paper bag-making competitions were organized to discourage the use of plastic bags. To make the planet green and pollution and plastic free, students of Aryans also pledged to plant a sapling each on their birthdays every year, not to waste water, reduce the use of electricity, cut down on driving and promote the use of eco-friendly products. The students planted different types of saplings in campus at this occasion and took the responsibility of looking after the plants.
