Punjab Government to consider January Batch
admissions in Diploma courses-Tech Edu Minister

Students seeking admissions in Technical Diploma course in
Punjab may soon look forward to seek admissions twice in a year.
An announcement in this regard was made today by Minister for
Technical Education Sh. Madan Mohan Mittal in the closing ceremony of Aryans
Tech Fest at Aryans Group of Colleges, Chandigarh.
Mittal said that Punjab Government would soon positively
consider the proposal to start the January Batch admissions in Diploma courses.
The model has been successfully implemented in degree courses in Punjab
Technical University (PTU) and now to solve the problems of matriculate
students Government would consider to start admissions twice in a year i.e July
and January session.
On the other hand Tech fest marked the startling performance given by noted Bollywood
stars Mahi Gill and Mukul Dev who gave startling performance on their
hit numbers and made the audience to tap on their feet. Apart from this renowned Bollywood Comedian
Amritpal Singh Chotu who has worked in movies like sing is king, Special 26,
Son of Sardar, Sardar Ji, Marriage Da Garriage etc also enthralled the audience
with his comedy show.
Around 7000 students, farmers, academicians, researchers,
professionals etc participated in the last of Techno Cultural Symposium. A lot
of enthusiasm was shown by all for the fest, as the schools and the
various companies that visited the campus displayed various models &
products. Job Fest, Industrial Training Fest, Science Fest,
Solar Fest, Robo Fest, Agro Fest, IT Fest etc. were
the main attractions of the Fest.
In Science Fest, More than 200 schools participated in the second day of the fest
and around 50 schools displayed their science projects. The first prize was bagged by Patel Public
School, Rajpura and Mukat Public School, Rajpura; second prize was bagged by
Govt. Senior Secondary School, Seona; Mukat Public School, Rajpura and third
prize was bagged by Govt. Sr. School, Ghanaur.
Sh. Mittal while appreciating the initiative taken by Aryans
Group of Colleges said that such fests creates a distinctive creative and
competitive environment where students and industries gets a remarkable
opportunity to compete with the brilliant minds from all across the country.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Anshu Kataria said that
this fest was one of its kinds as it offered something for everyone.
For the professionals there were stalls of Laptops, Mobiles, Tabs, Softwares
etc displayed by various IT companies and for the farmers there were stalls set
by various agro companies which displayed various agricultural equipment and
products.
The students showcased their talent and innovative ideas in
Science Fest through their creative projects. On other side, Solar
Companies displayed various Solar products like Solar Water Heater, Solar
Lighting, Solar Lanten, Solar Inverter, UPS Solar System etc. In
Robo Fest, Robotics & Embedded Based Projects were displayed.
