S. Sher Singh Ghubaya, Member Parliament, (Ferozpur) today inaugurated 2 days Athletic Meet at Aryans Campus, Vill. Nepra (Banur) on Chandigarh-Patiala highway. Dr. Jaswant Singh, ADC (Development), Patiala was the Guest of Honour. Dr.Anshu Kataria, Chairman, Aryans Group presided over the function. Around 350 students MBA/BBA/BCA of Aryans Business School (ABS), Aryans School of Management (ASM) and Aryans Institute of Management & Technology (AIMT) etc participated in the Athletic Meet. The function started with the flag hoisting ceremony by the chief guest.
Speaking on this occasion S. Sher Singh Ghubaya said that sports contribute an important role in process of building the personality of a student. He also advised the students to adopt game spirit as a life style element. Children should have a balance in studies as well as extra curricular activities.
Dr. Jaswant Singh while highlighting the importance of sports in the lives of students said that Sports teach you to win and loose therefore students will learn how to handle success as well as failures in a responsible manner. Dr. Anshu Kataria said that we try to involve all our students in this annual event. He also added that athletics being an integral part of any educational curriculum; its importance cannot be undermined even in today’s highly career oriented scenario.
On the first day, in the outdoor category students took part in 100 m, 200 m and 400m relay races. Other games such as volley ball, long jump, Kabaddi etc. were also carried out. Students also took part in various indoor games like table tennis, badminton, carom, etc.
Later in the day, Dr. Anshu Kataria gave away the prizes to the winners and congratulated them. Following were the results of 1st day of Athletic Meet:-
