UGC-NET held: 12000 Appeared Negative marking affected negatively: Kataria

University Grant Commission-National Eligibility Test (UGC-NET) was conducted in various centers of Chandigarh today. The test was conducted for humanities and social sciences subjects.

Dr.Anshu Kataria, Chairman, Aryans Group of institutes & also a co-author UGC NET books, said that Paper I created lot many confusions in the minds of the students because UGC has re-introduced negative marking after a long gap. Kataria added that UGC policy to consider first fifty attempted questions out of 60 in Paper I has also increased the troubles of the NET aspirants.

Dr.Kataria demanded that negative marking should be abolished away and instead of considering first fifty attempted questions of Paper I, University Grant Commission should consider any correct fifty questions out of sixty. Kataria said that with these new guidelines candidates feel pressure in the minds while attempting the question paper.

On the other hand, Dr.Kataria said that paper 1 was little time consuming while paper 2 was comparatively easy. Paper 3 was quite lengthy while contemporary issues in commerce and management subjects were tough.

He advised that those students who could not do well in this test should not wait for the result and should start preparing for the next test immediately. Because the result of NET exam is usually declared late.

Meanwhile,One of the most renowned institute, The Aryans Institute has again decided to guide the aspirants from January, 2010. It is to be mentioned that Prof.D.C.Kataria has worked for around 8 years in tricity to create awareness of UGC-NET exam.

It is to be mentioned that UGC conducts NET for humanities and social sciences exam twice a year and there are three papers in the test, Paper-I is common for all subjects while Paper –II and III are related with concerned subject only.
