Tourism & Aryans Group to present 3rd Annual International Sufi
Festival-2015 at Chappar chirri
Punjab
Heritage and Tourism Promotion Board (PHTPB), Government of Punjab is
organizing a 3rd Annual International Sufi Festival-2015. This is going to be
held on 1st, 2nd and 3rd March 2015 at Chappar
chirri, Mohali in collaboration with Ministry of Tourism, Govt. of India.
Aryans Group of Colleges and Future Plus are promoters of the event.
This was announced by Director Tourism, Punjab, Sh NPS
Randhawa today in a press conference held at Hotel Dawat, Mohali. Chairman,
Aryans Group of Colleges, Dr. Anshu Kataria was also present on the occasion.
While addressing the press conference, Sh Randhawa
said that the event will be inaugurated by the Minister, Department of Tourism,
Punjab, Sardar Sohan Singh Thandal. During day time a craft mela will be
organized to give artisans an opportunity to showcase and sell their
traditional Art and Craft. He further said that this will provide them a
platform for direct interface with art and craft lovers, share their talent
with the urban elite and know the customers taste.
Mr Randhawa further said that on the first day of the
sufi night renowned artist Satinder Sartaj will enthrall the audience. Apart
from this many renowned sufi artists like Ali Brothers, Mamta Joshi, Alamghir
Khan, Zafar Lohar (Pakistan), Qawaal Shantoo Khan (Pakistan) will give their
live performances in three day Festival.
Chairman, Aryans Group of Colleges, Dr. Anshu Kataria
while showing his gratitude said that this is for the first time that Aryans is
promoting an international event on the biggest platform where art, craft and
Sufi music lovers will visit jointly.
Dr
Kataria further said that the Festival is aimed not at any particular religion
or religious preachings. It is planned as a Meet and a celebration that would
make a collective endeavour to re-discover the spirit of Mysticism; something
that the world needs today in the highly charged atmosphere of terrorism,
communalism and the derogatory racism.
Mr.
Manish, Manager, Future Plus while giving more information said that the
objective of the Festival is to work towards the preservation and conservation
of the State’s heritage and promotion. “Sufi Tradition has the capacity to
bring and bind people together, generate peaceful relations among all humans”
he added.
