“Beti Bachao,
Beti Padhao” scholarship scheme launched by Aryans Group in Patiala
Patiala 14 June
Aryans College of Engineering,
Rajpura-Patiala launched special scholarship scheme under “Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao”
for the girls of Patiala. This was announced in a press conference held today
by Aryans Group at Hotel, Flyover, Patiala. Chairman, Aryans Group of Colleges,
Dr Anshu Kataria, presided over the event. A toll free helpline 1800-30000-388
was also launched on the occasion. Interested girls can apply for the
scholarship before 20th June by giving a
missed call on the same.
Dr. Anshu Kataria while addressing
the press conference said that under this scheme Aryans will shortlist 50 girls
wherein 50% of scholarship will be provided by the college and rest 50% will
be financed in shape of Education Loan on Engineering and Diploma
Courses. Recently Union Minister Sh. Vijay Sampla launched this scholarship in
Aryans.
Registrar, Aryans Group, Prof. B.S
Sidhu while speaking on the occasion said that the scholarship will be
provided on merit cum means basis. The scheme will enable the financially
constrained girls to explore their potential in engineering and technology
fields who either are choosing short term and other courses.
Ms. Shashi Katnawer, Media
coordinator said that around 2500 students from all over the country are
pursuing their higher education under various scholarship schemes provided by
Aryans. Few of the schemes are Dr. Kiran Bedi scholarship,
scholarship for Army personnel, Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao scholarship,
scholarship for tribal area students.
Ms. Ashima Dhiman, Academic
coordinator said, “girls are doing well in sports, education, health sectors
and agriculture but the ratio is very less in technical courses due to their
less interest, High fee structure. The Scheme will encourage girls to
explore their potential in engineering and technology fields with lesser
fee structure at Aryans.”
It is to be mentioned that the each
one of us has a collective responsibility towards this end; otherwise we would
not only be harming the current generation, but also inviting a “terrible
crisis” for the future generations. He appealed that maximum girl should take
the benefit of the scheme so that dropout rate among girl students could be
lowered.
