“ROBOTRYST: 2014-15” held at Aryans Campus.

“ROBOTRYST: 2014-15” held at Aryans Campus

Hundreds of students from different Colleges of Chandigarh region participated in 2 days “ROBOTRYST: 2014-15” held at Aryans Campus situated on Chandigarh-Patiala Highway, Near Chandigarh. This International Level Automobile Engine Design Championship was organized by TRYST 2015, Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi and Robosapiens Technologies Pvt. Ltd. and Aryans Group of Colleges, Chandigarh. The event was inaugurated by Dr Anshu Kataria, Chairman, Aryans Group of Colleges. The students were given demonstrations in small groups about assembling and de assembling of engines. 

Prof A P Jain, Director, Aryans Group while giving information said that on first day, students were provided Workshop on “Automobile Engine Design” by IIT, Delhi Representatives Mr Shiv Raj, Mr Rajinder and Mr Rajwinder. Whereas on second day, an Automobile Quiz Competition was held based on that workshop. The winners of the Competition would go to IIT, Delhi in the month of March 2015 in the Grand Finale in “TRYST 2015”.

Prof B S Sidhu, Registrar, Aryans Group said that in the workshop, the students were given in depth knowledge about Automobile Engines like Steering System, Power System, Testing & Designing, Software Knowledge, In built Engine Assembling and De assembling etc. The students were also made aware about latest developments in Automobile Mechanism. He added that the topic being of high interest, the event was attended on both days by the students especially Mechanical students enthusiastically. 

Prof Sidhu further said that the workshops proved to be very helpful for all the students who attended. He added that apart from being enjoyable for the students, the workshops also played role in enriching experience to the participants with significant interaction amongst peers having similar interests. And moreover the students were made understood various aspects not only theoretically but practically too which is crucial for every Engineering student, he added further.

Mr Anil, HoD, Mechanical Department said that RoboTryst-2014-15 is being organized in different stages. The zonal rounds have been commenced from the month of July, 2014 in only selected Colleges all across India. The final round would be held at IIT, Delhi in the month of March 2015. He added that RoboTryst-2014-15 is being organized from past 5 years and in the year 2014, it has launched its 6th edition.

Mr Anil further said that today’s highly competitive world demands that students not only learn but transform ideas into reality. Thus, it's mandatory to impart practical knowledge apart from academics to the visionaries of tomorrow in their formative years. Not only Young minds but all get fascinated by Robots like ASIMO, Kismet, iRobot etc.
