S. Manpreet Singh Badal ,Finance Minister ,Punjab to inaugurate PTU Youth Festival at Aryans

S. Manpreet Singh Badal, Finance Minister, Punjab would inaugurate Punjab Technical University (PTU) Inter colleges (Zone 1V) Youth festival 2009 at Aryans Campus at village Nepra, Chandigarh- Patiala Highway, near Chandigarh being held on 7th & 8th November. Sh. Raj khurana, Chief Parliamentary Secretary (finance) would be the guest of honour.



Anshu Kataria, Chairman, Aryans Group of Institutes (AGOI) said that Approximately 40 colleges from various districts of Punjab including Patiala, Mohali, Fatehgarh Sahib, Ludhiana, Muktsar, Gurdaspur, etc are expected to participate in the fest. The Main theme of the fest is 150th birth celebrations of Dr. Rabinder Nath Tagore & kuka –Movement. Kataria said that, there would be around 26 activities in the fest like cultural, poetry, painting, debate, rangoli, cartooning, one act play, mimicry, collage, poster making, clay modeling  etc. The activities like collage, poster making, quiz (1st round), Poem recitation would be strictly based upon the above theme.



Dr. Parveen Kataria, Director General, Aryans Group & Coordinator, Youth Festival said that, besides studies, extra co-curricular activities are equally important. They help in our development. We can bring out the talent of children in such youth festivals and can also work on improving ourselves by participating in these festivals. So I find this youth festival to be very important, she added.



Dr.D.P.Singh, Director, said that, such festivals build self-esteem and confidence of the youth. Their creativity is developed and honed in these competitions. The most important thing is that they channelise their energy in these fests instead of sitting idle and taking up bad habits.
