PTU WOULD START 50 INCUBATION CENTRES IN ITS AFFILIATED B SCHOOLS: - VC, PTU

Chandigarh: 29th April, 2010

“PTU would start around 50 incubation centers in its affiliated business schools, with the aim of promoting entrepreneurship and skill development so that the students rather becoming jobseekers become job providers. After getting admission in business schools, students start thinking of fat salary packages .These incubation centers would not only help them to think out of box but would also help young entrepreneurs to arrange money for starting new projects. We have already received the request of Aryans Business School to start first incubation centre which would start functioning from first week of May”.

This was stated by Dr Rajneesh Arora, Vice Chancellor, Punjab Technical University (PTU), Jalandhar after the first convocation of Aryans Business School (ABS) held at PHD Chamber today. Around 60 MBA students of batch 2007-09 were awarded degrees in the convocation. The ceremony started with Saraswati Vandana and National Anthem marked the end of the convocation.

Dr. Anshu Kataria, Chairman, Aryans Group, said that Aryans Business School (ABS) has already made all arrangements for launching incubation centre to translate student’s ideas into business. He added that Aryans always aim to nurture the spirit of entrepreneurship among talented and ambitious students.

While giving the convocation address, Dr. Arora showed his concern for the people and planet (Green growth & development).He said that it should get top priority rather than the profit considerations alone of business to have inclusive growth and sustainable development.

Dr. Manoj Anand (IIM, Lucknow), Prof D. C. Kataria (Vice Chairman), Dr. Parveen Kataria, Dr. K. K. Mangla, Dr. D. P. Singh, Dr. Manjit Kalra, Dr. A. S. Balgir, Dr. S. M. Sharma, Dr. Nindru Bal were also present during the convocation.
