All India Management Association (AIMA), the apex body for management in the country, has announced the launch of Management Aptitude and Skills Test (MAST). It will be a screening test for the MBA & PGDM students and will assess their basic skill-set required to become an effective manager.
This was said by Mr. Sanjay Dixit, (Director, Business Development ,AIMA), while addressing an interaction on ‘MAST’ –A Must for an MBA organized by Aryans Group of Colleges (AGC) at Chandigarh Press Club today. Dr.Rajneesh Arora, Vice Chancellor, Punjab Technical University (PTU) was the chief guest on the occasion.
Dr.Rajneesh Arora, Vice Chancellor, PTU while interacting with the management students said that “In today’s competitive job scenario the recruiters are met with a daunting task to choose the right candidate from the talent pool and fresh management graduates need counseling to pick a right job best suiting their skill-set, interests and capabilities.” Dr. Arora further added that Aryans Business School (ABS) has become first B school of the region to take initiative to motivate and inspire its management students for MAST. Earlier also, ABS launched the idea of incubation centre which is well perceived and followed by other B schools also.
Dr.Anshu Kataria, Chairman, Aryans Group while presiding over the function mentioned that AIMA has come up with this innovative model of testing B-school graduates that will help the students as well as the recruiters to opt for the best possible job opportunity and right talent respectively.
It is to be mentioned that MAST is a computer based test, which will test students on the parameters of General Ability, Domain Knowledge and Psychometric or Personality traits. To add more to the benefits of the test, MAST, will be of immense significance to the recruiters, by presenting them with a detailed analysis of the skill-set a candidate possess. MAST would be held on 20th February, 2011 all over India.
