Aryans Group to start Engineering College near Chandigarh




Ø Chandigarh to get one more Engineering College in its Periphery

Ø Aryans Group would start 20 acre Engineering campus in Banur

Ø AGC is already running various courses like MBA, BBA, BCA and B.Ed.

Ø Chandigarh is emerging as one of the fastest growing Education Hub of North India

Aryans Group of Colleges (AGC) today announced the opening up of Engineering College in 20 acres campus near Chandigarh from session 2011-12. The campus would be in Banur – Rajpura Education Belt which is 30 minutes drive from tricity.

Announcing this, Dr.Anshu Kataria, Chairman, Aryans Group said that “It took us 3 years to successfully complete the process of land acquisition and development. Around 7 acres land have been earmarked for greenery to keep the campus green and pollution free.” He said that the process for getting necessary approvals from the regulatory bodies has already been started. He added that the project would be ready by May, 2011.

Dr.D.P.Singh, Director, Aryans Group said that “The successful completion & placement of 2 MBA batches has inspired us to start Engineering College. There would be total 300 seats in this upcoming College including 60 each for five branches naming Civil, Mechanical, Electronics, Computer Science and Electrical Engineering.”

Dr.K.K.Mangla, Director said that as for MBA, Aryans Group is associated with the world’s top MBA entrance exam like GMAT, GRE, CAT, XAT etc. to get quality students for admission. Similarly in Engineering, we are looking for collaborations with the top national and international organizations and industries for the admission, training and placement of engineering students.

Dr.A.S.Balgir, Director said that the group would be reserving 10% seats for meritorious students. These 10% Seats would be filled by Dr.Kiran Bedi and her team of Navjyoti India Foundation.

It is to be mentioned that Dr.D.P.Singh and Dr.A.S.Balgir (Directors, AGC) have been working on this project since 2 years. As they are alumni of Panjab Engineering College (PEC), Chandigarh and have spent more than 35 years in various industries, are of the opinion that the present Education System does not create engineers employable in industries suitably. So that have evolved some modules of practical training along with course curriculum to make the engineering degree more relevant.

Chandigarh has become the Education Hub now. Thousands of students are coming to Chandigarh every year for taking admission in the colleges of Chandigarh and its nearby areas. Students from abroad also are showing their interest in these colleges. Banur, a place near Chandigarh, where Aryans Campus is located, has emerged as an education hub of Punjab Region.

It is to be mentioned that AGC started in 2007 and providing various courses at present like MBA, BBA, BCA and B.Ed. The Group is growing under the leadership of young & dynamic entrepreneur Dr.Anshu Kataria, a doctorate in management from University Business School (UBS), Punjab University(PU), Chandigarh. It is the first group in Punjab which is being run by a group of academicians and educationalist family.
