Aryans Group of Colleges (AGC) organized annual cultural extravaganza “Roshaan” at the Punjab Kala Bhawan, Sector 16, Chandigarh today. Mr.V.K.Sharma, IAS, Secretary, Cooperation, Punjab was the Chief Guest on the occasion. Dr. Anshu Kataria, Chairman, Aryans Group presided over the function. Around 450 MBA/BBA/BCA /B.Ed students of Aryans Group participated in the colorful cultural items.
Students of Aryans Group presented a colorful cultural programme which included bhangra, giddha, group dances, western dance, Punjabi dance, fusion, skits, mime, choreography, folk dance, solo songs, solo dance, etc. Many students were honoured for their achievements in academics, sports, cultural & extra curricular activities. Vinay and Jasmeet of BCA-VI, Vijay of BBA-VI and Nitika of MBA-IV were adjudged the best students.
Dr.Kataria said that besides studies, extra co-curricular activities are equally important. They help in the overall development of the students.Also present on the occasion were Prof. D. C. Kataria, Vice- Chairman; Mrs.Rajni Kataria, Dr. (Mrs.) Parveen Kataria, Director General, Dr.D.P. Singh, Dr.A.S.Balgir, Mr.H.K.Saini(Indian Overseas Bank), Advocate B.D.Girdhar, S.Ranjit Singh and many others.
The event commenced on a spiritual note with Khwaja by Faaiz and group. While, a Bhangra under the leadership of Gurwinder and party enthralled the audience, Haryanvi dance by Suman and group brought the audience onto their heels.On the other hand, Punjabi group dance by Kimmy & group, Kashmiri Dance by Jahangir & group, Western Dance by Kamalveer & group, Fusion by Harpreet, Faaiz and Avneet and many others brought the audience to their toes. Mime presented by Deepak and Group was the centre of attraction. A choreography depicting College Life by Vijay & others made remember all present the freshness of college life.
