Himachal launches Aryans scholarship under 'Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao' for HP
Girls
Chief Minister, Himachal Pradesh, Sh. Virbhadra Singh today
launched a special scholarship scheme of Aryans Group of Colleges, Chandigarh.
This scholarship is for needy and deserving girls of Himachal and other hilly
areas under “Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao” scheme.
On the occasion CM, HP also launched a toll free helpline
i.e 1800-30000-388. Interested students can apply for scholarship by
giving a missed call on that. Chairman, Aryans Group of Colleges, Dr. Anshu
Kataria was also present on the occasion.
Sh. Virbhadra Singh while appreciating the initiative taken
by Aryans said that the Group has opened the doors for needy and deserving
Girls of HP. “It’s very difficult to pursue quality technical education in the
Colleges of other states and that too near Chandigarh because of unaffordable
expenses, but this step would foster their desire to pursue technical
education, by paying lesser fees” he added.
He further added that each one of us has a collective
responsibility towards this end; otherwise we would not only be harming the
current generation, but also inviting a “terrible crisis” for the future
generations. He appealed that maximum girl should take the benefit of the
scheme so that dropout rate among girl students could be lowered.
Chairman, Aryans Group of Colleges, Dr. Anshu Kataria while
giving information about the scheme said that under this scheme 25 girls
would be benefitted in which 50% of scholarship will be provided by
the college and rest 50% will be financed in shape of Education Loan
in B.Tech and Diploma Courses.
Dr Kataria further said that girls are doing well in sports,
education, health sectors and agriculture but the ratio is very less in
technical courses due to their less interest, High fee structure.
The Scheme will encourage girls to explore their potential
in engineering and technology fields with lesser fee structure at Aryans.
Prof. A.P Jain, Director, Aryans Group said that around 2500
hundred students from all over the country are pursuing their higher education
under various scholarship schemes provided by Aryans. Few of the schemes are
Dr. Kiran Bedi scholarship, scholarship for Army personnel, Beti Bachao, Beti
Padhao scholarship, scholarship for tribal area students.
