Aryans Students shine in “Rhythm”


Chandigarh (19th Sept., 10)

Students, staff and management of Aryans group of Colleges (AGC) today organized 4th cultural extravaganza “Rhythm”, at Punjab Kala Bhawan, Chandigarh. Sh.K.K.Soni, Chief Regional Manager, Indian Overseas Bank (IOB) inaugurated the function. Dr.Anshu Kataria, Chairman, Aryans Group presided over the function. Around 450 students of MBA, BBA, BCA & B.Ed students presented Skit, Bhangra, Giddha, Group Song, Group Dance, Mime, Play & Modeling.

The function commenced with the lamp lighting ceremony by the Chief Guest followed by Tandav performed by Nitika.In his inaugural speech, Mr.Soni said that such events are necessary in the professional institutions as they instill confidence and sense of responsibility in the students. Academics and Cultural activities always go side by side. Cultural activities play important role in order to reduce the stress of the students, he added.

Sh.Dalip Sharma, Regional Director,PHD Chamber; Dr.Manoj Anand, Professor, IIM (Lucknow), Sh.H.K.Jatana; Sh.Bhupinder Manchanda; Sh.H.K.Saini were also present as Distinguished Guests.

While welcoming the Chief Guest, Dr.Anshu Kataria said that the institute would always welcome such gestures of the students and the institute would encourage the students to organize such events more frequently. He further highlighted the students to be more practical and get involved in other activities to sharpen their talent. He said that students should enter the portals of an educational institution as 'takers' and pass out as 'givers' to the society" and mentioned that he can visualize the young faces as future managers and entrepreneurs

Umar & Chetanya sang songs while Dinesh, Bismay presented western dances. An “Anti Ragging Play” was presented by Abhishek & Group. The Beautiful “Naati” of Kullu under the leadership of Vishambar enthralled the audience. The audience was on their toes during the Punjabi dance “Sab toh Sohna Bhangra” under the leadership of Munish. Kshitiz and group also presented an energetic Hip-Hop dance and “Fusion” by Jyoti & others brought the audience to their toes.

Also present on the occasion were Prof. D. C. Kataria, Vice- Chairman; Mrs. Rajni Kataria, Treasurer; Dr. (Mrs.) Parveen Kataria, Principal; Dr. K. K. Mangla, Dr.D.P.Singh, Dr. A.S. Balgir, Dr.Manjit Kalra, Dr.Nindru Bal and many others.
